Storybooks

The storybook album is now overtaking the traditional album as the most popular way to display your photographs. Instead of mounting photographic prints into a traditional album, the images are printed directly onto to storybook pages in a modern style. There are endless possibilities for design in your storybook album. The storybook is produced in Italy by GraphiStudio. Click on the pictures below to view examples of storybooks. Note that the storybook you will view is low resolution and not comparable to the quality of the finished product.

Storybook prices.

Graphistudio has held it's 2007 prices for 2008, therefore the prices below will apply to any albums ordered in 2008 . If you order an album in 2009 or later, the actual cost of your album will depend on the current price at the time of ordering. The prices don't change much, and can sometimes go down as well as up.

Parents/Grandparents Albums

These albums look exactly like a library book and have a dust cover.

Guest Albums

A paperback album you can give to your guests. The price below is for 48 copies. Prices for larger quantities are available on request.

Slipcase

This is an optional outer cover or case to protect your album. They are not really necessary, but I can order one for you if you wish. If you do not order a slipcase, your album comes in a plain white box. They are not available for 8"x12" (20x30cm) albums.

How to choose your storybook

Step 1

Look at the GraphiStudio website. This will show the different styles available for your storybook. Choose a layout from the drop down list. The number of images you need depends on the style of the storybook and the number of pages. Larger storybooks have the same layout, but with larger pictures. There are 5 styles, each of which has an optimum number of images per page. This table below will allow you to see how many images are recommended for each style and size of book. The number of images can vary slightly from these, but it is best to keep as close as possible for a balanced album.

The designers at GraphiStudio will design your storybook for you, and most people are happy to let GraphiStudio do this. However, if you want to have more control of your own design, then I can let you know how to do this before ordering.

**These are the most appropriate styles for the type of photographs I take. The number of images is optional, but is what GraphiStudio recommends. The designs created by GraphiStudio are outstanding, but if you want to specify certain images in a particular style, for example, no monochrome images, certain images in monochrome or a specific image on a double page, just let me know and I will pass on the instructions.

Step 2

Choose your type of paper: Smooth, Textured, Photographic or Metallic (Metallic is 5% extra cost)

Step 3

Select a cover for your main album from the choices available. The most popular cover is the Personalised Transparent. Some covers are slightly more expensive, but I will inform you of this at the time of ordering.

Step 4

You may wish to order a slipcase with the storybook. This is an optional extra which I can quote for at the time of ordering. If a slipcase is not ordered, the album comes in a plain white box, which is more than adequate.

Step 5

Choose your parents/grandparents albums if required, and also any albums for guests.

Step 6

A few days after your order is submitted, GraphiStudio will send me a PDF file after around 2 weeks, which I will email to you (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required on your computer, but most computers already have this installed). You should examine this to ensure that it is to your satisfaction. Up to 10 changes can be made for an additional fee of £60, but this is rarely required. As soon as you have authorised the PDF file, the order will be completed in about 2 weeks. I require full payment before I can place an order.
